Our mission at ProNappers is to normalise napping at work. We’re dedicated to inspiring and educating people about the benefits of napping for productivity, and both physical and mental wellbeing and creating workplace havens where napping for healthy high-performance is respected and enjoyed. We know we’ll have succeeded when we’ve created a corporate world where napping at work is acceptable and accessible, restorative and results-linked.

How it all started

I first thought about the need to make publicly napping mainstream 25 years ago when I was struggling to get through the working day with two small boys – ironically I was too tired to do anything about it. Now I’m ready to get us all to open our eyes to the unequivocal benefits of napping and to make it a normal and essential part of a healthy and productive life.

Anyone who has experienced the almost uncontrollable urge to shut their eyes as they look at a pc screen or nod off in meetings will know what I mean – we can sleep on a train, standing in a queue, even on the loo. In fact the number of literally closet sleepers in the WC at work is a scandal. The American ‘rest room’ was not designed for the secretly embarrassed employee who knows that a power nap will set them straight for an afternoon of concentrated focused work.

A quick nap is the fuel injection we need and mental reset required to sustain performance, foster creativity, reduce mistakes and make better decisions. A nap also positively improves your mood; the ripple effect on relationships with peers, clients, loved ones is evident.

So join us to normalise napping at work, whether you want to switch off in one of our specially designed nap havens or grab your nap pillow and headphones for a shut-eye in a breakout space, we are here to make napping acceptable and accessible to all, for the health of each of us, happier workplaces and a better business bottom line.
